This is one of the more "expensive" Essence mascaras - I think it was 5 dollars at Ulta, which is still very cheap. It's very good. The wand is a large, rubber wand similar to Cover Girl Lash Blast type wands. The only downside to the brush is that it's very large so difficult to get in corners. But the mascara overall performs very well. There is very little clumping, and the mascara defines and lengthens lashes nicely. It does thicken, but it's not a super-dramatic thickening look. You can get away with multiple coats. I haven't noticed any flaking. It comes off quite easily with soap or makeup remover.
The tube is an attractive orangey-peachy colour which makes it super easy to find in drawer or makeup bag. The tube is a tiny bit big and cumbersome though, I guess to accommodate the large brush.
I don't want to say that this is a good mascara "for the price". Mascara is important enough to me that it's not worth cheaping out on, and a cheap mascara that doesn't achieve good results is just not worth it. Having said that, I would buy this mascara again, not because it's cheap but because it's GOOD. Essence does it again.
