This is a love-hate product for me. Took me several months of occasional attempts to make it work to actually Make it work! All those videos, incl. on the JI site, on how to use it that suggested the ordinary concealer brush and/ or finger application were absolutely no use :( Too gooey and quick drying for that. But eventually i found the Only way to use it - I buff it in with a soft micro kabuki style brush that is usually marketed for eyeshadows (mine is the MUFE #218; Zoeva also makes these). I squeeze a tiny drop onto the back my hand and slightly dip the bristles and buff it - then with almost no noticable product on the brush lightly buff it onto the spot barely touching the skin. The blemish dissapears that instant! Magic! :) So, it is extremely full coverage, and it also covers the texture really well (pimple scabs, for example). It has the perfect ingredients that really sooth and kinda heal the skin (no joke here - was really surprised as it may be more healing than my "proper" skincare regimen for those nasty occasional blemishes). Now the downside: it separates on oily areas and it dries the dehydrated areas more, so the solid wear time is around only 4 hours; it is so thick that it is perfect to conceal the most awful blemish, which makes it too thick when there's only a residual mark left (the separation/drying in mind); it is truly full coverage which makes it not the best choice for minor skin defects as the minor spot might be less noticable than the concealer. And the application which makes it difficult to spot-conceal when the "spot" is dot-small. Oh, and when it sets upon initial application, it goes like 1-2 shades darker than straight out of the tube, didn't notice much color oxidisation later on. Overall, for me personally: it is for pimples/scabs/freshly post-pimple blemishes only - but for these uses it is totally HG (the ingredients and soothing effect in mind; also the color as I'm fair like NC-10-15* and those rare brands that are both "natural" and effective don't usually make fair-colored makeup). Powdering with JI foundation helps a lot with staying power and to color-correct.
Will be repurchasing until I find a better concealer, i.e. with as safe and soothing ingredients as this one has but with better staying power and may be a better color match (paler than the JI #1).
*The color #1 sets darker and yellower than my skin tone, but it is still better than the alternatives for the uses I keep it for. And I color-correct with JI powder foundation in Bisque.
P.S. I like the tube packaging. But hate the felt cover of the "applicator" tip (both totally useless and unhygienic) - so i literally shaved the felt off and now the tip is simple plastic :)
