I'm reviewing this product as a contouring product rather than a concealer as this is what the girl at MAC recommended I used when I told her I wanted to start contouring.. BIG MISTAKE..

I bought this in 2 shades - 1.5 for highlighting & 8.0 for contouring

I'll start with the 1.5. This product is OK at best. When I apply it under my eyes it does brighten them but when I put it along my forehead/nose it highlights and accentuates every single pore I have and the texture makes my head feel greasy - yuk! I'll use for under my eyes until I've finished the tube but won't repurchase.

Now onto the real problem child, 8.0. This shade is just horrible, again this picks up every little imperfection in my skin (tiny acne scars etc) and if feels like I'm wiping a crayon across my face. The texture is so cakey and does not blend AT ALL. I'm basically stuck with 2 zebra stripes on my face. I also found that the patches on my cheeks where I had tried to apply this broke out the next day. I have virtually a full tube of this left & won't be repurchasing.

Annoyed that the girl in MAC who supposedly knows what she's talking about actually made me waste my money on these products.

I purchased this in the shade 2 (C4 in sf). In my opinion, this is not full coverage and the product does waste fast. The concealer has a good creamy consistency but is very sheer. I don't recommend this if you are looking for a thick concealer. I use this when I am in a hurry and don't have much time to do my makeup.

Awesome concealer for under my eyes! I have tried what feels like every concealer on the market. Most recently I was using the MAC Studio Finish in NW20. But- by the late afternoon, my undereye area looked parched and dry even with a nice eye cream. I decided to try Matchmaster because it comes in a stick form and is a true cream, not cream to powder. Wow! I pat it on my undereye area with a triangle shaped sponge and it covers my darkness at the inner corners and my reddish/bluish veins beautifully. Looks the most like skin of any concealer I have tried! It does develop some creases along the lines I have in the area but I simply pat those creases out with my ring finger. Best of all, no dryness! Yay! For reference, I am MAC F&B N2 and MACMSFN Medium and use shade 1.5 in Matchmaster.

I honestly cannot understand why there are so many positive reviews about this? I told the MAC artist that I wanted a concealer to cover blemishes for my upcoming prom. I don't have awful acne but I'd say I have about 4 red spots at one time on average. She recommended the matchmaster concealer and matched my colour on my cheek. After buying, I got home and tried it out and yes, ok, it blended into my natural colour really well but it concealed nothing 0 'zero' nothing zilch??!! I have always been blown away with what MAC makeup can do because I have other products but this is just horrendous. I don't doubt that when I take this back I'll get advised to buy an alternative that will blow me away like MAC products usually/should do. Not good. Not happy. At least I can take it back for another type though.

This concealer did not live up to my expectations, I have been using Mac concealers for around 2 years now and my favourites are studio finish and prolongwear both of which provide beautiful finishes, i heard about matchmaster through YouTube bloggers and thought I'd try it out and completely regretted it after my first day of trying it out, it comes in a cylinder sort of package and you have to roll it out sort of like a lipstick, this is damaging to the concealer as it can break it off and the product seems to run out super fast too. When applying you will need to use quite a lot of product as it doesn't tend to show much or spread out unless you use quite a bit, I expected this product to be quite dewy as it is sort of like a foundation stick in the sense that it has a velvety and creamy texture however it seemed to become quite oily as the day progressed, also it oxidised fast so the colour became quite dark, this product may have the potential to look good with the right amount of powder setting but overall for the price I don't think its worth it, you could get a way better finish with a drugstore product like maybelline age eraser.

I haven't written a review for a long time but this is worth it. This is a mini-miracle in that it is a concealer, highlighter for under eyes and a speedy foundation in time of need. You can spread with fingers or with sponge. I am a C4 SF, Matchmaster 3 and Prolongwear NC37 and the #3.0 is an exact match in any light. I find this so handy that I purchased another one to keep in my purse.

Don't think I would use this concealer for covering blemishes if I had a lot to cover, it's brilliant for contouring though, using a dark colour of course, really creamy and blends well!

*PALE LADIES WILL LOVE THIS* (Shade 1!)

I've bought this product THREE times already. It is the cheapest, best wearing concealer that I've found and it could quite possibly be my holy grail concealer / foundation for lazy days. My only gripe is that for the way I use it (apply directly to face, fill in tops of cheekbones, undereyes, nose and spots), one tube lasts only about one month. But the size and application of it is perfect for traveling or when you're sleeping over somewhere and you don't want to bring your entire base products.

////// How I use it:

FOR A FULL FACE (what I wear most often), I heavily moisturize in the morning. My skin type is probably somewhere around normal/combo/oily -- but more normal than anything. I wear Olay Total Effects, Neutrogena SPF 110+, then a light layer of L'Oreal's Revitalift Miracle Blur. Then I put a light layer of MUFE Matte Velvet in 15. All this is blended in with my fingers. After, I buff in a little Shiseido Dual Balancing foundation in I00 Very Light Ivory with a Real Techniques buffing brush (I do this because Shiseido gives a very light reflective, dewy finish). It sounds like a lot, but I promise it never looks heavy and I'm always complimented on how smooth and bright my skin looks. These products are almost like tinted moisturizers with all the lotion I put underneath it.

THEN I use this concealer. I basically draw upside down triangles under my eyes and fill in the highest points of my cheek bones to act as a highlighter. It is a little yellow toned and is slightly darker than my skin, but when blended in, the yellow acts perfectly to counteract the redness in my cheeks. I buff it out quite a bit with a Real Techniques brush.

////// The Product:

It leaves a very creamy, soft look. I sometimes powder everywhere BUT where I put the concealer, because it gives such a nice, dewy finish. It wears really well. Never creases. Never feels too heavy. Never oxidizes! And is honestly a great concealer for just $22. I've purchased a ton of concealers in the past ranging from $30 - $60, and I prefer this Mac one over them everyday.

I bought this at Sephora and it was pretty expensive but definitely worth it. I hardly ever get spots so I mostly use this as an undereye concealer and I think it works very well. It's quite creamy and really easy to apply although you need a thicker brush to blend it out properly.
For the purposes I use it for it works great but I wouldn't use it to cover up spots or blemishes because it's not a thick coverage concealer.
All in all I think this product works great for me and I would definitely buy it again, but would only recommend if you want to use it as an undereye concealer of for covering up uneven skin tone

I don't use this as a concealer but more for a contour cream. It blends out nicely and looks very natural.
