This was my first ever eyeshadow primer to buy, therefore I opted for this very cheap one. You know, just to try it out and stuff... What a waste of 3! I mean, I wasn't expecting much from this brand, but I thought that it would make at least a bit of a difference as for until then I had always just put eyeshadow straight on my naked lids. Well, it made no difference at all.
My lids normally get only slightly oily and my eyes are really hooded. So, my eyeshadow always creases. I don't know, maybe it's just my eyelids, maybe if they weren't hooded, this primer would actually help. But for me, this just doesn't work at all and I would not repurchase it.
The other thing that I consider rather odd is that whenever I bring my concealer slightly higher on my upper lid to cover that darkness which appears on the side of my nose and then I put this primer on, there is a visible line where the concealer ends and where my naked skin starts. I don't even know how that is possible because before I put the primer on, the concealer is well blended and no harsh lines are visible. And the worst thing about this is that there is no way of getting rid of that, no matter how hard I try to blend it.
The only thing I like about this is, that it covers veins on my eyelids. Not so much that it would look unnatural, which is good as I prefer only medium coverage for most of my makeup. I just don't like looking all so perfect as if made of wax, you know.
Anyway, I tried various ways of putting this on. I tried to wait for it to dry before putting on my eyeshadow, applying shadow on still wet primer, putting pressed powder on, putting concealer on... Nothing worked. Halfway throughout the day, my lids are oily and eyeshadow creased.
I have just purchased a more expensive eyeshadow base by TheBalm. I will see whether that one works. If it doesn't then maybe it's just my hooded eyes and I'm being unfair to this one...
