I wanted to love this product because I do appreciate a lash primer. I thought the black tint to this one was genius and Estee Lauder made it so I could I not like it?
Quick description of my lashes, they are actually pretty long and full on their own but I really the the volume primer gives. Almost like a a false lash effect.
I tried the primer 3 different days with 3 different mascaras. All 3 mascara are very good on their own but again, I really love that plush look.

I tried it with:
Josie Maran Black Oil-Which I LOVE!
L'Oreal Telescopic-Which I really like close to love lol
Stila's new mascara I think it's called Huge mascara-which I like

This primer did not allow the mascaras listed above to give me what they typically would give me let alone some additional oomph as primers are supposed to help mascaras! instead after each application i noticed that my lashes looked too string like too separated/gapped. It was as if the Primer coated the lashes not allowing the mascaras to do their thing.
Oh and lastly, lets talk about removing the product -_____- a total mess and just the weirdest feeling on my lashes like waxy. It was more work than I'd wanted to put into removing makeup...

I really wanted this product to work, that's why I tried it with different mascaras. But it just didn't it for me. I returned this product right away. I'll stick to my white Dior and Lancome Primers!

Amazing product! One of those types of things that you wouldn't know you needed until you had one :) I use this mainly on top of my regular mascara. I have very oily lids. My mascara rarely stays put, I usually have to wear something like Kanebo 38 C that doen't budge. But with the little black primer you can wear those mascaras you always wanted to wear and they won't smudge under your eyes! Love this!

I love this primer however I don't agree with the idea that it gives your lashes any extra length! It works fantastically after mascara to keep it on all day, I had a huge problem with flaking no matter what mascara I used, I don't have that issue when I seal my mascara with this primer. If I "forget" to take my makeup off after a night out-we're all guilty of it okaaay- I don't wake up with panda eyes, impressiiiive! For that reason it is an absolute staple in my makeup routine!! I wouldn't use it by itself as I don't feel as though it makes much difference but if I use it before it gives a little more volume.

Pros: Keeps your mascara on aaaall day and night with no flaking!
Adds a little more volume!
Cons: doesn't add any length!

This works well as a lower lash mascara. It's good if you want just to bring out or emphasise your lower lashes without a clown effect. It also stays on well for hours in the hot and humid conditions of an Asian summer. I use it first on upper and lower lashes, then pile some other mascara on my upper lashes. If I have the time, I will add another coat to the upper lashes.

This primer doesn't come close to my usual lash primer, Lancome Cils Booster. This provided no extra length, volume or staying power of my mascara. I tried several mascaras with it. The only thing I do like about it, is the natural tint it gives your lashes if you are going for a very natural look.

I've been testing the Little Black Primer out for a couple of weeks now, and I'm pretty impressed. It's not pigmented enough or volumizing enough to look like much on its own (the texture of it is like... a charcoal grey, semi-opaque gel) but it provides an excellent foundation over which to apply "real" mascara and get better-than-normal results.

I feel like it does a fantastic job of setting/holding a curl after I use my lash curler. It also separates the lashes quite beautifully, making it so that they don't get clumpy or spidery when you go to apply mascara over top of them. I also find that I have fewer mascara flakes under my eyes at the end of the day when I use this primer.

I haven't been able to get this to work on my bottom lashes, though; I'm not sure if it's the brush or the formula, but when I apply it to my lower lashes, it just seems like a bit of a mess.

So far I've tested it out under three different mascaras (Buxom Lash, Marc Jacobs O!Mega, and L'Oreal Miss Manga) and with all three, using the primer helped me achieve curled, separated lashes all day. I think the Little Black Primer is a fun, interesting product, and most importantly, it seems to work.

I got this product because I liked the idea that it does 3 things; Tints, amplifies and sets.
I really wanted to like this product but it did nothing for me- It is not like wearing anything- Huge disappointment- I get better results with cover girl lash blast or most of the drugstore mascaras! This product sucked! One thing it did do was not run at all and it was easy to remove- probably because it looks like there is nothing on at all. And for 24 dollars, I expected a LOT MORE!!- I am actually returning it and I don't usually do that. I would just stick with the regular Lancome mascara- and just blot it with a tissue to get less intense and more natural look. Sorry!

If you are looking for fuller, thicker lashes, I recommend using Clinique's Lash Primer. I only bought this because Emily Noel over at "Beauty Broadcast" raved about this product. I was disappointed. What it is (in my opinion) : a very weak black mascara that you apply prior to your favorite mascara. It did nothing to add volume and sadly, caused my favorite mascara, "Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme" to flake something fierce. I say pass on this one.

I never knew I needed this in my life till I actually got this.

Before using this product, I was always under the impression that curly lashes mean lashes that are super curled, like from root to the tip.

When I applied this, my short stick straight lashes fell (as compared to right after curling them to death with my eyelash curler), so I was disappointed. But I applied a coat of mascara after since this IS an eyelash primer after all. I went about on my day and at the end of it, HOLY COW I WAS IMPRESSED.

1. My lashes still had the bouncy natural curl from the beginning of the day. I'm usually out for like 8 hours?

2. I am currently using UD's Cannonball as a mascara and my no. 1 problem with it is that it flakes cause of the fibres in it. This primer fixes that exact problem. I find zero to minimal flaking at the end of the day.

3. Because it's water resistant and does not flake, I finally found a perfect eyelash product for my bottom lashes!!! Idk why but my normal mascaras usually doesn't work too well on my bottom lashes. Maybe it's because they're sparse and flimsy, but this primer is magic for them!

4. Because of its light and natural looking "coverage", I can use this as a mascara on its own on my no makeup days.

It's definitely on the pricier end of the scale, considering that it's more expensive than the mascara itself lol. But I would definitely say this is worth your money! Any mascara problem you previously had (ie. mascaras that you bought, used once and decided is trash? no? just me? D:), is all solved thanks to this tube of magic. If that doesn't convince you to get it, idk what will.

I have only tried it under mascara and it worked really well. It claims that it can tint your lashes, amplify when worn under mascara and set mascara to a water resistant finish when worn over mascara. I'm not a huge primer person, only other ones i have tried are Clinique and Lancome. I did like that it allowed my mascara to go on smoothly and did provide some volume. I did not try it over my mascara because i don't like clumpy lashes and prefer a natural voluminous look.
